Components of Physical Fitness

Food Intake

Variety of Fruits and VegetablesFood intake, or eating, is the process of ingesting food to provide for an animal's nutritional needs, particularly for energy and growth. All animals must eat organisms in order to survive: carnivores eat other animals, herbivores eat plants, and omnivores consume a mixture of both.

60-70% OF YOUR RESULTS STEM FROM WHAT YOU EAT & DRINK, therefore knowing the basis to achieve your results is critical. This is one of the many services provided with this elite program.

Cardiovascular

Woman and Man RunningCardiovascular Exercise, commonly referred to as aerobic exercise or simply "cardio," is physical activity that causes the body to adapt to more efficient movement of oxygen through the circulatory system. By causing the body to move more quickly and increasing a person's heart rate, cardiovascular exercise has a variety of effects on the body.  We all have what is called Target Heart Rate (THR), which is calculated, based on your resting pulse. When one reaches his/her THR the body is then utilizing its fat stores for fuel, therefore burning fat! But training with your heart rate too high, the body begins to burn muscle for fuel, and with your heart rate too low, carb stores are used for the fuel. So to get the most out of your cardio program your THR is calculated for you at the start of your training program and monitored throughout your training.

Supplementation

Fork Knife and Vitamin on a PlateA Dietary Supplement (also known as food supplement) is a preparation intended to supply nutrients, (such as vitamins, minerals, fatty acids or amino acids) to your body.  Supplements are essential to an effective program. Multivitamins and antioxidants are crucial to you achieving your goals in a reasonable amount of time. You can't expect your car to keep running if you haven't provided oil, gas, etc. Your body is no different. When you increase your activity and begin a workout program your body is working more, therefore, it needs more so it can burn, repair, and build. We can guide you in selecting goal-enhancing supplements that can prove essential to you reaching your goal, be it weightloss, muscle tone, or improved performance.   To read more more about supplements that can help you get to your fitness goals go to http://www.advocare.com/10124929.

Resistance Training

Woman Lifting Weights with Personal TrainerResistance Training is training designed to increase the body's strength, power, and muscular endurance through resistance.  Fat is burned inside your muscle, therefore, increasing your muscle mass will increase your body's ability to burn fat. Have you ever seen someone lose a drastic amount of weight on a fad diet only to gain it all back quicker than they lost it? As their weight decreased on this diet not only did they lose fat but they also lost muscle. Therefore going back to eating a regular diet afterwards is now too much for their new, slower metabolism. Eating only two or three times a day or not consuming a sufficient amount of protein daily can both cause the same effect. Ultimately there are no short cuts to getting fit and one has to be smart in their pursuit.

Flexibility

Woman StretchingTo some degree, your flexibility determines how efficient your muscles are. Increased flexibility has also been associated with decreased risk of acute and chronic (overuse) injuries.  Poor flexibility can directly affect cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength and muscular endurance. Physiologically flexibility can include extra-muscular (range of motion at a joint) and intramuscular factors such as hyper tonicity (knots) within the muscles themselves.
